Aaron has been interested in physical fitness and performance his whole life. This interest led him to athletics and martial arts at a young age. He earned black belts in Karate and Judo before finding Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 1997.
Aaron was one of the pioneers of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the State of Maine, and he was the first person in Maine to be promoted to the rank of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Aaron received his blue belt from Helio and Royce Gracie in 1998, his purple belt in 2001, his brown belt in 2003, and his black belt in 2005, all from Joe Moreira.
Aaron has provided training for various groups including the Maine Army National Guard, Maine General Hospital, The State of Maine, Coastal Orthopedics and Coastal Performance Training Center.
Aaron is a Shoyoroll and World Clan Collective Ambassador. He is also a writer/contributor for various martial arts publications.
Aaron holds a bachelor’s degree in sports and recreation management, and a master’s degree in psychology with a specialization in sports and performance psychology. He also holds multiple martial arts, strength and fitness certifications including CSCS from the NSCA.
