Blake Academy

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has exploded in popularity over the past 10 years. It’s not just for fighters, people from all walks of life are finding out how BJJ can help them improve their physical fitness, their overall health, and even day to day mood and confidence.  Blake Academy focuses on building character through the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  We train in a family like atmosphere which is supportive and accepting of all people.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and all martial arts are based on the passing of knowledge from teacher to student.  It is important to be able to trace a specific lineage.  For example, Aaron’s lineage is:  Mitsuyo Maeda > Carlos Gracie > Helio Gracie > Francisco Mansur > Joe Moreira> Aaron Blake.  If we want to trace our lineage back even further  we can and it wold look like this:  Masamitsu Mataichiro> Masatomo Mataemon> Hachinotsuke Fukuda> Jigoro Kano> Mitsuyo Maeda > Carlos Gracie > Helio Gracie > Francisco Mansur > Joe Moreira> Aaron Blake.
