Aaron is a life-long entrepreneur and martial artist. He is currently the co-owner of the Flagship Inn and the Head Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor at Coastal Performance Training Center. Aaron lives in mid-coast Maine with his wife and two daughters.
Aaron holds a bachelor’s degree in sports and recreation management, and a master’s degree in psychology with a specialization in sports and performance psychology. He holds numerous fitness and martial arts certifications.
Aaron has been fascinated by physical fitness and body movement his whole life. This interest led him to athletics and martial arts at a young age. He earned black belts in Karate and Judo before finding Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 1997.
Aaron was one of the pioneers of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the State of Maine, and in 2005, he was the first person in Maine to be promoted to the rank of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. The IBJJF currently certifies Aaron as a 2nd degree BJJ black belt. Aaron opened Maine Jiu Jitsu Academy in 1998 and ran the Academy for over ten years. Since that time, Aaron has taught over fifty Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminars.
In addition, Aaron has consulted or provided training for the Maine Army National Guard, Maine General Hospital, the State of Maine, Coastal Orthopedics and Coastal Performance Training Center. He is also a writer/contributor for various martial arts publications, and he is a sponsored Q5 Sports Nutrition athlete.
